Wondimu, in northeastern Tarleaux, is bordered by Solafeth to the north, the sea to the east, Shaitam to the south, and Duluum to the west.
Wondimu was the last territory to be conquered by Barston and the first to throw off its rule centuries ago. It is constantly beset by incursions from the north but have maintained their independence since then.
About half of the residents of Wondimu are Human. Another 10% each are Wood Elves, Half-Elves, Halflings, and Gnomes. About 5% of the population are Dwarves and another 5% Half-Orcs.
Wondimu has a state religion, mandating worship of Tempus, God of War. Worship of other deities is forbidden, though there are underground cults to all members of the pantheon.
Wondimu is a fairly dry and flat savannah, dotted with towns and major cities.
The Church of Tempus rules Tarleuax, with a hierarchy of local priests, regional bishops, and a Cardinal who has ultimate authority. The church is mostly interested in enforcing religious rules and maintaining its territorial integrity, leaving people to act fairly autonomously in other areas of life.
The people of Wondimu remember fondly their war of independence from Barston and have been fighting an on-again, off-again war with their Orcish neighbors to the north effectively forever. They are naturally distrustful of people who are not either from Wondimu or adherents of Tempus, but have a great deal of internal unity.
Mercenaries from Wondimu fight in practically every major conflict in the world, sending their salaries back home. The region is poor in natural resources, making the expertise of their soldiers their most effective way to acquire wealth that can be traded for the weapons and armor that they covet.
