The party discussed options for next steps and ultimately decided to go to Gulden's house in April disguised as soldiers. We do a rush job of burying the dead soldiers in a nearby field before leaving after midnight. We took along with us the soldiers' former cart and oxen plus "taxes" in the form of veggies they'd taken from local farmers.
When we arrive at Apil, several of the more distinctive party members disguise themselves or hide, while others help to talk our way in past the soldiers we meet there. We abandon the cart, oxen, and veggies halfway to Gulden's house. When we arrive at Gulden's, the lock on his house has been broken and his house has been searched, though not totally ransacked (the good china is OK). We scurry in and hide, only to be disturbed by a knock on the door. It's Gulden's nosy but friendly neighbor, Rob, here to chat and check up on us. From him, we learn that the army has taken over the warehouse district in April. They're using some warehouses as barracks and some as food storage. Once Rob trundles off, we long rest.
The next day, using the tavern bathroom as a staging ground, we send Morro into the barracks in search of enemy plans. Orla makes Morro invisible (after some negotiation) and he sneaks around the army area looking for plans, steals a uniform, and eavesdrops on some soldiers. He learns that things are pretty much normal for the army: they continue to collect taxes, send food to the front, and "keep the peace." They are also sending food north to Barston. Morro struggles a bit with some locked doors (no thieves' tools) and does not pick up any plans, though he suspects he knows where they are stored. He returns to the tavern as his invisibility wanes, blithely strolling out of the bathroom and confounding the tavern-keeper. We all return to Gulden's house to regroup. After some debate over whether and how to steal thieves' tools and/or the plans, we eventually decide to send Enna back into the barracks as a mouse. She will memorize the plans and will return with the details.
