We slept uneventfully overnight. Kiiv was so tired that he slept through everything interesting in the entire session.
We continued to attempt to make our way out of the swamp and back to Iggleston with Enna navigating while Gulden and Morro keep watch.
Gulden spots three giants with two heads each and weapons on an island ahead, but they do not notice us initially. After casting Comprehend Languages, Gulden hears them discussing how hungry they are. We attempt to pass the giants undetected but one of the giants hears us talking about being quiet. After realizing we've been detected, a fight ensues.
Enna starts things off by casting Spike Growth on the island filling the area all around the giants with spikes and thorns. Morro follows up by casting Cloud of Fog around the giants. One of the giants approaches us, clearing the thorns and fog, and Gulden shoots him, but the giant moves beside our boat. Whipp and Kestyn vault to the giant and exact damage at close proximity. Orla casts Fireball although it is very close to the boat and several of our party. One of the giants is spurting and the other is bloodied but the third giant has also joined the group.
Enna casts Entangle, impacting two of the giants who become restrained by the vines. One of the giants dies. Whipp used Smashy and Kestyn used his short swords on the two remaining giants. One of the two giants attacks Enna who goes down. One of the giants runs away. The other is mocked by Gulden and finally killed by Morro. Kestyn saves Enna and we search the two giants but find them to be generally disgusting with nothing of value other than their heavy weapons.
We travel a little further from the site of the battle in case the third giant returns and then we set up camp and take a long rest in a Tiny Hut cast by Gulden. During the long rest, Orla casts the Find Familiar spell and gains a bat companion.
We set off again in the boat but apparently Gulden and Morro are too distracted by the bat to keep a good lookout. After about an hour, there is finally open water instead of swamp. Kestyn manages to row through most of the day though we are headed against the river current.
Suddenly Morro spots a fin close by in the water. We pull the boat to the shore so that Morro can try to shoot the creature. The arrow just grazes the creature and the creature swims quickly away.
Come evening, we see the Iggleston harbor. We're a bit concerned about the fire damage to the boat but Horatio is content to accept a gold towards repairing the damage.
We find an inn, bathe, and eat. We also buy rations.
Before departing town, Enna buys a new book (after Orla ruins a few endings for her).

We give the seeds to Orla's Uncle Glorfinkel. Uncle Glorfinkel introduces us to his associates, Scrigs (Human) and Flutt (Gnome) who are professors... in Barston. Scrigs and Flutt explain that they need to cast a spell on one of the flacron seeds to determine where they need to go to figure out how to solve the famine. They plant the flacron seed and cast three spells and the seed grows in a southerly direction.
Orla asks Scrigs and Flutt what is happening in Barston and Flutt says that it's terrible there and everyone seems to be gripped by a fever for power and they are convinced that anyone other than humans and halflings are the root of all evil. He says he's not going back and that the trouble seemed to start when King Ranwid I took the throne.
In the end, Scrigs heads off to plant the next flacron seed and Flutt remains behind with Uncle Glorfinkel.
